"During the last three years I have been preoccupied with the idea of painting as a surface. The examinations often come out as patterns consisting of dots and lines. The patterns vary from the tedious to more complicated, at times to be associated with the ones of textile patterns. An important thing is that the patterns appear as a closed and tight system, but even more important is that all of the work is infected. That is, infected with a virus which in a radical way breaks with the illusion of the system as an absolute and literally debates the parallel design of these closed systems."
Peter Christian Petersen
"Convincing is also Peter Christian Petersen's play on repetition and deviation in a series of delicate works, where the rhythm never stagnates, but constantly is kept dynamic with a refinement of modulations in color and shape."
